  Characteristics
(1)These elements are bipolar, so they can be embedded in a circuit regardless of polarity.
(2) They have very fast response times.
They can respond to the very fast occurrence of irregular voltage in less than a nanosecond (1/1,000,000,000 sec.)
(3)With improved surge withstand capacity and low leak current, they are suited to a wide range of uses.
(4)Epoxy resin sealant makes them highly reliable.

The SSPD PE series are high performance semiconductor surge protection devices developed for use in surge protection for such telecommunication systems.

 
·High response speed (nanosecond response)
·Three pole construction allows a single SSPD to provide the same level of protection between the grounds and wires of a single line.
·The line voltage while the device is operating is very low.
·In comparison with GDT, SSPD has excellent dv/dt characteristics.
